RULES OF “ROAD RAGE” (maximum 6 players)

The object of the game is to get to the end of the board first. How to play the game:

  1. Deal 7 cards to each player. There is a draw deck and a discard pile.
  2. The first player picks one card from the draw deck. On your first turn, in order to start moving, you have to play a gas pedal card. (all cards will be explained below). If you can play a gas pedal card, you can then play as many cards as you would like. If you do not have a gas pedal card, your turn is over. Your turn ends when you can't or don't want to play any more cards.
  3. The game proceeds with each player as above. (after the first turn you do not have to play a gas pedal to play other cards)

CARDS:

  • Gas Pedal Card – Once you play this card you can roll one die once per turn. If you go into the pits, get stopped by a road hazard, get in a crash or get a flat tire or get stopped in the police zone, you must play a gas pedal card to start moving again.
  • Lane Change Card – allows the player to change lanes right or left of them as long as there is not another player in that space. One lane change counts as one space of your roll.
  • Nitro Boost Card – allows the player to roll two dice instead of one.
  • Road Hazard Card – when played this card places a road hazard wherever you want for the rest of the game (only 3 road hazards can be on the board at once). The only way around a road hazard is a lane change card.
  • Pit Stop Card – allows the player to transport directly to the pit stop closest to you after getting crashed or getting a flat tire.
  • Crash Card – this card makes all players crash and lose two turns.
  • Crash Aversion Card – allows you to avoid any crash after a crash card is played. (this card must be played when a crash occurs)
  • Card Jack Card – allows the player to steal a card from another player. You cannot steal a signature card from or a “wrench card” another player.
  • Flat Tire Card – this card allows the player to choose any player to get a flat tire, this means they lose one turn.

Wrench Cards:

There are a total of two different wrench cards. In order to get a wrench card, you have to go to the Pit Stop. (both have unlimited uses)

  • Spare Tire Card – allows the player to automatically be repaired after a being hit by a flat tire.
  • Crash Repair Card – gives back one turn after being in a crash. (combinable)

CARS:

(When you choose your car, you gain their signature card that can be used once per game)

  • The Snake – the snake's signature card allows the user to swap places with the player in the same lane in front of them.
  • The Kraken – this signature card allows the player to reposition all the cars back 5 spaces and choose any lane to put them in.
  • The Ice Maker – when played, this signature card creates a permanent ice spot that is depicted by where the player places the card on the board, when a player hits the ice spot they stop and then lose their next turn.
  • Clowning Around – this signature card allows the player to chose another player to roll two dice on their next turn then move that amount of spaces backwards.
  • Flaming Phoenix – this signature card acts a a nitro boost, after use the user is allowed to roll one additional die (this card while being used does not get affected by police zones).
  • Rust Bucket – this signature card lets the player roll 2 dice, if the roll is above a 6 the player doubles it and moves that many spaces, if 6 or below the player does not move at all.

ZONES:

There are three types of zones.

  • City – if you're in the city, you are only allowed to roll 3 or below to move forward. if you roll higher, roll again until you roll a 3 or below.
  • Police – There are two police zones on the board. If you are caught using nitro boost in a police zone, you are forced to do what it says on the board (you cannot use nitro boost in a police zone).
  • School – If you roll below a 3 in a school zone, you have to take a detour and “take your kid to school”. (you automatically get transported to the closest detour spot)
